Born in Melbourne, Mulganai, known as Emma Hollingsworth, found her roots in the tropical embrace of Far North Queensland. As a Kaanju, Kuku Ya’u Girramay woman, Emma's art serves as a vivid narrative of her life's journey.

"Shallow’ is a masterpiece capturing Mulganai’s childhood memories in shallow waters. The gold streaks represent the sun's shining on the water, while large circles symbolise the comfort of home and nearby creeks. Delicate dots weave the intricate waterways, and arches represent the mountains from Mulganai’s upbringing.
Design: We Are All One
‘We Are All One’ represents the interconnectedness of humanity, emphasising the shared bond created by the Earth we tread upon and the stars that grace our skies. Through symbolic depictions of the moon and sun, this design conveys the universal truth that, despite our differences in skin colour, religion, culture, and wealth, we are all one. It serves as a powerful reminder of the collective journey we share and the potential for a harmonious world we live in.
Design: The Sentinel Sky
In this artwork 'The Sentinel Sky’, the sky becomes a silent witness to cherished family rituals. Inspired by memories of fireside gatherings at sunset, vibrant pinks and reds represent the sunset, while rich blues symbolise the night sky. Large circles represent home and the fire Mulganai sit around sharing stories of the stars and thier mob, and u shapes embody the unity of family.

In this captivating painting, the ocean becomes a canvas for cultural storytelling. A turtle and crocodile gracefully swim in the waves, surrounded Mulganai’s mob walk along the shore. Wulmina, meaning "woman" in Indigenous language, holds a profound significance, particularly as it was released on International Women's Day. Mulganai’s inspiration came from the generations of women who came before her, crafted this design as a tribute to her ancestors, the women who paved the way for her journey.
